MEDISCOR’S GENERIC REFERENCE PRICING MODELS

Mediscor’s generic reference pricing models is a component of the service we offered as Pharmaceutical Benefit Management (PBM) organisation and is intended to assist medical schemes in optimizing cost management without affecting the quality of service to their members.

These models set a maximum reimbursable price for a list of generically similar or biosimilar products with a lower cost than the original medicine and is applicable to all medicines with generic equivalents or biosimilars.

Three models, all country specific, are maintained to accommodate for the impact of currency as well as product price and availability:

*  MRP: Applied in South Africa

*  NMRP: Applied in Namibia

*  GRP: Applied in Botswana
